Arkansas Man Sentenced to 30 Years for Shooting Incident Resulting in Death of Unborn Baby

A man from Arkansas has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for his involvement in a shooting incident that resulted in the death of an unborn baby in 2023. The tragic event occurred when two women, Sandy Williams and Parneisha Slater, were shot multiple times through the window of their apartment in Elaine, Arkansas. Slater, who was 25 weeks pregnant at the time, tragically lost her unborn baby due to the gunshot wound. Treyton Russell, a 23-year-old from Wabash, was arrested and initially charged with two counts of first-degree battery. However, following the baby's death, he was also charged with murder. Russell pleaded guilty to first-degree battery and second-degree murder on March 2, 2026, and has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for each charge, to be served concurrently.
