Carolina Panthers to Honor Luke Kuechly in Hall of Fame Game Against Arizona Cardinals
The Carolina Panthers are set to participate in the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio, to honor Luke Kuechly's induction into the Hall of Fame. The game against the Arizona Cardinals will take place on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 8 p.m., marking the Panthers' first preseason game of the summer. The Panthers previously faced the Cardinals in Arizona last season, resulting in a 27-22 road loss.
The last time the Panthers played in the Hall of Fame game was in 1995 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, both expansion teams at the time. Despite the NFL reducing the preseason schedule to three games, the Hall of Fame game participants will have four matchups due to the early exhibition bout. This gives the Panthers an opportunity to kick off their training camp earlier than most teams and prepare for the neutral site showdown.
While the rest of the Panthers' preseason and regular-season schedules will be announced later, the Hall of Fame game offers fans a chance to see the team in action. With training camp closed to fan attendance for a second consecutive summer, the game provides an additional viewing opportunity. Kuechly, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the age of 34, expressed gratitude for his career in Carolina, where he made seven Pro Bowl appearances and was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.
Having spent his entire career with the Panthers after being a first-round pick in 2012, Kuechly credited the team's supportive environment and talented teammates for his success. The upcoming Hall of Fame game will be a special moment for Panthers fans to celebrate Kuechly's legacy and witness the team in action before the regular season kicks off.
