Eric Guggenheim Returns as Showrunner for Fire Country Season 5 on CBS

Eric Guggenheim, known for his work on Magnum P.I. and Hawaii Five-0, is set to return to CBS/CBS Studios as the executive producer and showrunner for the upcoming fifth season of Fire Country. He will take over from Tia Napolitano, who has been the showrunner since the pilot but will step down at the end of the current fourth season. Fire Country, created by Max Thieriot, Joan Rater, and Tony Phelan, was the most-watched new series during its launch season in 2022-23. The show continues to dominate its Friday night time slot at 9 PM, helping to launch two new series on the same night this season.

Guggenheim will join the team of executive producers on Fire Country, which includes Thieriot, Rater, Phelan, Bill Purple, and Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed from JBTV. The series, produced by CBS Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution, has been renewed for the 2026-27 season. Guggenheim has a successful track record in the industry, having worked on shows like Magnum P.I., Hawaii Five-0, Parenthood, and the upcoming Harlan Coben limited series adaptation I Will Find You.

Guggenheim's experience in showrunning and producing will bring a fresh perspective to Fire Country as it enters its fifth season. With his background in successful TV series, Guggenheim is poised to lead the show to new heights and continue its legacy as a fan-favorite. Fire Country fans can look forward to an exciting new chapter under Guggenheim's leadership.
