Angel City FC Leads the Pack: NWSL Team Valuations Soar to New Heights
Angel City FC has once again topped the list of the most valuable teams in the NWSL, with a valuation of $335 million, as reported by Sportico. This marks the third consecutive year that Angel City FC has held the top spot in team valuations. The team's value has seen a significant increase since joining the league in 2022, growing by 86% since 2023. Following closely behind are the Kansas City Current at $315 million, Bay FC at $208 million, San Diego Wave FC at $200 million, and the Washington Spirit at $196 million.
The average team value in the NWSL has seen a substantial 77% increase since 2024, now standing at around $184 million. The total combined value of all 14 teams in the league last year was $2.6 billion. Washington Spirit saw the highest year-over-year revenue growth at 66%, reaching $19.6 million. TV viewership for the league has been on the rise, with the current TV package valued at $60 million annually, a significant increase from previous years.
However, there has been a slight decline in attendance figures at some clubs, leading to an overall 5% decrease in attendance for the league. Despite this, the NWSL continues to see growth in various aspects, including team valuations, revenue, and TV viewership.
