Super Santos: A Gritty Tale of Street Soccer and Crime in Naples

Principal photography has commenced in Naples for the Italian director Ciro Visco's film Super Santos, based on Roberto Saviano's novel 'Cuore Puro'. The movie follows the lives of four boys bonded by their passion for street soccer in Naples, amidst the backdrop of the Camorra crime syndicate. The screenplay was co-written by Saviano, Stefano Piedimonte, and Visco. The cast includes Francesco Di Leva, Massimiliano Rossi, Antonia Truppo, and new talents Thomas D'Angelo, Ciro Esposito, Ciro Dommarco, and Danilo D'Ambrosio. The film is a Palomar and PiperFilm production, supported by the Ministry of Culture's Fund for the Development of Investments in Cinema and Audiovisual. Filming will span six weeks in Naples, with a skilled crew including Cristiano Di Nicola as the director of photography, Ludovica Ferrario as the production designer, Mariano Tufano as the costume designer, and Marcello Saurino as the editor. Super Santos will be released in Italian theaters by PiperFilm and internationally by PiperPlay.
