Unreleased Fugazi Sessions with Steve Albini: A Legendary Chapter in Music History

In 1992, Fugazi made a trip to Chicago to record with Steve Albini at his studio Electrical Audio. The band and Albini hit it off immediately and ended up recording 12 songs, which later became the In On The Kill Taker album. Despite loving the recordings initially, Fugazi and Albini realized something was off during the drive back to Washington, DC. They decided not to release these sessions and re-recorded the material at Inner Ear Studio with producer Ted Niceley.

The original Albini sessions have gained legendary status and have been widely bootlegged over the years. Fugazi and Albini discussed these sessions on an episode of Kreative Kontrol in 2015. Now, for the first time, Fugazi has officially released the full Albini sessions on Bandcamp. The band is donating its share of the proceeds to Letters Charity, a Chicago nonprofit that provides assistance to families in financial need, a cause that Albini has long supported.

To give fans a taste of the unreleased material, two songs from the Albini sessions are currently streaming on Bandcamp. These tracks offer a different perspective on the music that eventually made it onto In On The Kill Taker. Fans can purchase the full album on Bandcamp, with all profits from today's sales going to support Letters Charity. Don't miss this opportunity to hear a unique chapter in Fugazi's history and support a worthy cause.
