Wild Brothers Reunited: Nick Foligno Joins Minnesota, Strengthens Penalty Kill

The Minnesota Wild have added winger Nick Foligno to their roster, reuniting him with his brother Marcus Foligno. Nick was acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks, with the Blackhawks receiving future considerations in return. Nick, who has been the Blackhawks' captain for the past two seasons, brings a solid two-way game to the Wild. He has contributed three goals and eight assists in 37 games this season and is known for his penalty-killing abilities.
Marcus Foligno, who is an alternate captain for the Wild, has been with the team for the past nine seasons. The addition of Nick Foligno will strengthen the Wild's penalty kill, which currently ranks 22nd in the NHL. The Blackhawks will not retain any of Nick Foligno's $4.5 million cap hit in the trade, as they have no retention spots remaining. The Foligno brothers will now have the opportunity to play together and contribute to the Wild's success on the ice.
