CIF Southern California Regional Semifinals Recap and Regional Finals Preview

The CIF Southern California Regional semifinals took place on Saturday, with the winners advancing to the regional finals on Tuesday. The teams that emerge victorious on Tuesday will move on to the CIF State Championships in Sacramento on March 13 and 14.

In the boys' basketball Open Division, Sierra Canyon defeated Santa Margarita 72-60, while Harvard-Westlake secured a 56-52 win over Santa Maria St. Joseph. St. John Bosco triumphed over Mater Dei 75-71 in overtime, and Damien overcame Crean Lutheran 49-44 in Division I.

Palisades emerged victorious against Torrey Pines with a score of 81-67 in Division II, and Bakersfield Christian defeated Carlsbad 65-50. Colony secured a 48-45 win over Shalhevet in Division III, while Birmingham triumphed over Poway 82-69.

In the girls' basketball Open Division, Sage Hill defeated Sierra Canyon 57-54, and Ontario Christian secured an 80-66 win over Etiwanda. Corona Centennial emerged victorious against Mater Dei with a score of 60-48 in Division I, while Rancho Christian defeated Francis Parker 85-79.

The upcoming regional finals on Tuesday will determine the teams that will advance to the CIF State Championships. The games will start at 7 p.m., with matchups including Harvard-Westlake at Sierra Canyon in the Open Division, and Palisades at Bakersfield Christian in Division II.
