Legendary Sylvester Stallone Joins 'John Rambo' Prequel as Executive Producer

Sylvester Stallone, the original John Rambo actor and three-time Oscar nominee, has joined the team as an executive producer for the prequel film "John Rambo." This marks Stallone's first time producing a Rambo movie, expanding the franchise to six titles. The movie, directed by Jalmari Helander, is currently being filmed in Bangkok, Thailand, with Noah Centineo taking on the role of Rambo.

Stallone, who previously wrote and directed the Rambo movies, has been a key figure in the success of the franchise, which has grossed over $819M worldwide. Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair, Adam Fogelson, expressed excitement about Stallone's involvement, stating that Stallone's deep understanding of the character of John Rambo makes his participation crucial for the film.

The screenplay for "John Rambo" was written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, with Kevin King Templeton, Les Weldon, Jonathan Yunger, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Michael Disco serving as producers. The film is a collaboration between Lionsgate, Millennium Media, Templeton Media, and AGBO, with distribution handled by Lionsgate.

In addition to Noah Centineo as Rambo, the cast of "John Rambo" includes Yao, Jason Tobin, Quincy Isaiah, Jefferson White, and Tayme Thapthimthong. The film is part of Lionsgate's expansion of the Rambo franchise, following a deal with Millennium to develop and produce derivative works of the series.
