Magical Adventures with Tinker Bell: A New Live-Action Series on Disney+
Disney's beloved fairy, Tinker Bell, is set to star in a new live-action television series on Disney+. The show, titled Tink, is being developed by Liz Heldens and Bridget Carpenter. Tinker Bell, originally created by J.M. Barrie, first appeared in Disney's 1953 animated film Peter Pan and has been a popular character for over 70 years. The series is a significant project for the streaming platform and follows previous attempts to bring the character to life, including a live-action feature film in 2015.
Yara Shahidi, known for her role in Black-ish, portrayed Tinker Bell in the 2023 live-action film Peter Pan & Wendy. The upcoming series is being executive produced by Gary Marsh, who previously worked at Disney Branded Television. Heldens and Carpenter, who have a long-standing friendship and collaboration history, are writing and executive producing the show. Quinn Haberman from Heldens' production company Selfish Mermaid is also on board as an executive producer.
Heldens has an impressive TV career, having worked on shows like Friday Night Lights, Mercy, Deception, The Passage, and The Big Leap. Carpenter, known for her work on Dead Like Me and Friday Night Lights, has created series like 11.22.63 and worked on shows such as Parenthood, Westworld, and Only Murders In The Building. The duo brings a wealth of experience and talent to the Tink series, promising an exciting new take on the iconic character.
