Maynard James Keenan's Vinyl Adventures at Amoeba Records: A Musical Journey Through Iconic Albums

Maynard James Keenan, the renowned musician from Tool, Puscifer, and A Perfect Circle, recently participated in Amoeba Records' "What's in My Bag?" video series. In the video, Keenan is seen browsing through the iconic Los Angeles record store and selecting vinyl albums to purchase. He starts by discussing the Ahmad Jamal Trio's 1970 album, The Awakening, praising the pianist's talent and the recognition he received from Miles Davis.

Keenan's eclectic purchases include a live album by Joni Mitchell, Minor Threat's self-titled LP, and N.W.A's Straight Outta Compton. As an Akron native, he also shows love for hometown heroes Devo and The Pretenders. His bag also contains albums by Swans, Sonic Youth, Black Flag, and X, along with Puscifer's V is Versatile, giving credit to bandmate Mat Mitchell for the live-performance release.
