Hot Docs 2022: A Preview of the Special Presentations and Premieres
Hot Docs, Toronto's renowned documentary film festival, will feature a selection of acclaimed films including The Ballad Of Judas Priest and To Hold A Mountain in its Special Presentations category. The Ballad Of Judas Priest delves into the career of the iconic British rock band and its lead singer Rob Halford, while To Hold A Mountain follows a shepherdess and her daughter defending their ancestral home in Montenegro. These films will make their Canadian premieres at the festival, alongside 11 other films from various countries.
Among the highlights of the Hot Docs lineup are world premieres of Kenny Loggins: Conviction Of The Heart, a documentary about the singer-songwriter behind hits like "Footloose" and "Danger Zone," and The Tower That Built A City, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of Toronto's CN Tower. Additionally, Mehrdad Oskouei's A Fox Under A Pink Moon, shot entirely on an iPhone, will have its North American premiere at the festival.
The Canadian premieres at Hot Docs include Sundance selections The Oldest Person In The World and Time And Water, as well as Maya Annik Bedward's Black Zombie, which explores the evolution of zombies from Haitian culture to Hollywood horror. The festival will reveal its full lineup on March 24, promising a diverse and compelling selection of documentary films for audiences to enjoy.
