Kenny Chesney to Receive Ocean Legacy Award at Tortuga Music Festival 2026

Kenny Chesney is set to receive the Ocean Legacy Award at the upcoming Tortuga Music Festival on April 12 in Fort Lauderdale. This award, presented by the Rock The Ocean Foundation, acknowledges Chesney's dedication to ocean conservation and his close ties to the festival, which he helped launch in 2013. This year will mark Chesney's sixth headline appearance at Tortuga, making it his only 2026 concert outside of his record-breaking Sphere Las Vegas residency.
The Ocean Legacy Award was specially created for Chesney by Rock The Ocean and Tortuga Festival founder Chris Stacey. Over the years, Tortuga and Rock The Ocean have raised over $6,000,000 for ocean conservation, supporting numerous non-profit organizations and university programs. Chesney's performances at Tortuga have become iconic moments in ocean culture, with boats of all kinds dotting the shoreline as thousands gather on the sand.
As a Country Music Hall of Fame inductee and the artist with the most Country Airplay Number Ones according to Billboard, Chesney's influence in the music industry is undeniable. He is also the only country artist to be listed in Pollstar's Top 10 Touring Acts of the Millennium. Despite his numerous accolades, Chesney remains humble about receiving the Ocean Legacy Award, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to shed light on ocean conservation efforts.
The Tortuga Music Festival will take place from April 10 to 12 in Fort Lauderdale, with Post Malone headlining on Friday, Riley Green on Saturday, and Kenny Chesney closing out the weekend on Sunday. Tickets and VIP packages are currently available for purchase on the festival's website. Don't miss this chance to experience a weekend of great music and support a worthy cause!
