2026 Sofia Meetings: A Showcase of International Filmmakers and Their Feature Projects

Filmmakers from various countries have been selected to pitch their feature projects at the 2026 Sofia Meetings during the Sofia International Film Festival in Bulgaria. Among the selected projects are UK writer-director Matt Harlock’s "Reconstruction," German projects "Her Story" by Florian Hoffmeister and "Heavy Light" by Stefan Koutzev, Bulgarian project "Fathers" by Martin Iliev, Turkish director Gözde Kural's "In Those Darkest Nights," and Lebanese Canadian filmmaker Katia Jarjoura's "Robbing Beirut." The event will also showcase works in progress, including Slovak director Michal Blaško’s "Cowgirl," Theo Papadoulakis’ "Recrucified," and Mina Mileva and Vesela Kazakova's "Wild Horse On The Rotten West." Additionally, UK journalist Keme Nzerem’s documentary "The Long Juju" will be screened as a work in progress. The selected projects cover a wide range of genres and themes, promising an exciting lineup for the event.
