Fatal Shooting Outside Kamloops 7-Eleven: RCMP Investigating Targeted Incident

A man was fatally shot outside the downtown Kamloops 7-Eleven store early Wednesday morning, according to RCMP. The incident occurred in the 600-block of Seymour Street around 4:30 a.m. The victim, identified as Emmanual ‘Manny’ Brooks, succumbed to his injuries despite receiving emergency care from an RCMP medic. Brooks was previously wanted by police for theft and possession of a weapon. The RCMP Serious Crime Unit is investigating the targeted incident, and no arrests have been made yet. The 7-Eleven property was cordoned off for investigation but has since been reopened. Police are urging anyone with information or surveillance footage to come forward to assist in the investigation. This marks the second homicide in Kamloops in 2026, with no apparent connection to the previous case.
