Bills Boost Defense with Signing of Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson

The Buffalo Bills have made significant additions to their defense this offseason, signing edge rusher Bradley Chubb in free agency and now adding safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the mix. Gardner-Johnson has agreed to a one-year deal with the Bills, with the potential to earn up to $6 million.

Gardner-Johnson started last season with the Texans but was released after three games. He then signed with the Bears and had an impactful season, recording 51 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble in 10 regular season games. Despite missing the playoff opener due to a concussion, he returned to play in the divisional round against the Rams.

The versatile safety has also had stints with the Eagles, Lions, and Saints since entering the league as a fifth-round pick in 2019. He brings valuable experience, having won a Super Bowl with the Eagles, and will now look to contribute to the Bills' quest for their first championship in franchise history.

With the addition of Gardner-Johnson, the Bills continue to bolster their defense and add depth to their roster as they aim to make a strong push for a Super Bowl title in the upcoming season.
