Refunds for Obstructed View Tickets at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Vancouver

Taylor Swift fans in Vancouver who purchased obstructed view resale tickets for her Eras Tour concerts may be in for a refund. A recent agreement between Consumer Protection B.C. and StubHub Canada allows concertgoers who sat in specific sections during the shows between Dec. 6-8, 2024, to receive reimbursements if their tickets did not disclose an obstructed or limited view. The affected sections were located beside or behind the main stage. Unique "no view" tickets were sold on Ticketmaster for $16.50, but resellers marked them up by approximately 150%, causing frustration among fans.

The obstructed seats were released to give more fans the opportunity to see Swift perform during the final dates of the Eras Tour. Following a consumer complaint, an investigation into StubHub's ticket sales practices led to a legally enforceable agreement signed on Feb. 23, 2026. As part of the agreement, StubHub is committed to improving how it discloses ticketing information, including the face value of the ticket, fees, service charges, and refund guarantees.

Consumer Protection B.C. alleges that StubHub violated provincial laws, specifically the Ticket Sales Act, which mandates clear disclosure of ticket costs and other relevant details to buyers. This includes any obstructed or limited views caused by obstructions like poles, speakers, or soundboards. Concertgoers eligible for refunds will need to provide evidence that StubHub failed to disclose the obstructed view and will be contacted by May 1, 2026.

In addition to refunding buyers, StubHub must pay over $6,000 in inspection fees to Consumer Protection B.C. and contribute $2,500 to the Consumer Advancement Fund. Despite the ticketing issues, the Vancouver crowd received recognition from Swift on her album "The Life of a Showgirl," with fans' cheers heard in the background of the title track featuring Sabrina Carpenter. The final Vancouver show was also released as a concert film, "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show."

Swift's album "Showgirl" has been a massive success, setting records in Canada as the biggest album debut in the modern streaming era. Throughout her extensive tour, cities like Toronto went above and beyond to provide fans with an unforgettable experience. During her six-night stint in Toronto, Swift generated an estimated $39.7 million from direct and indirect spending over two weekends.
