Jason Pinnock: A Look Back at His Impactful Career with the New York Giants
The New York Giants have reached an agreement with safety Jason Pinnock, pending a physical. Pinnock previously played three seasons with the Giants and spent the last year in San Francisco, where he played in all 17 games and started seven. During his time with the Giants from 2022-24, Pinnock participated in 46 games with 37 starts, accumulating impressive career stats including 263 total tackles, 11 passes defensed, 11 quarterback hits, 6.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and two interceptions. One of his interceptions was returned for a 102-yard touchdown in 2023, which is tied for the longest interception return in Giants history.
In Giants history, Pinnock's 102-yard interception return is only the third time a player has achieved such a feat. The other instances were Erich Barnes' 102-yard touchdown in 1961 and Henry Carr's 101-yard touchdown in 1966. Pinnock was drafted by the Jets in the fifth round in 2021 and had a successful college career at the University of Pittsburgh, playing in 42 games over four years from 2017-20.
