Ringo Starr Releases Lead Single 'It's Been Too Long' from Upcoming Album 'Long Long Road' Featuring Collaborations with Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, and Billy Strings

Ringo Starr, also known as Richard Starkey, has recently released the first single from his upcoming album, set to be released on April 24, just before his 86th birthday. The new track, titled "It's Been Too Long," features Sarah Jarosz and Molly Tuttle and is the lead single from his 22nd studio album, "Long Long Road," which will be available next month. The album, a 10-track country record, includes collaborations with renowned artists such as Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, and Billy Strings.

Ringo's venture into country music is not new, as fans may recall his cover of Buck Owens' "Act Naturally" in 1965 and his country and blues-influenced second solo album, "Beaucoups of Blues," in 1970. In 2025, he returned to the genre with the album "Look Up," performing at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Beatle legacy continues with Paul McCartney also working on his 27th studio album, in addition to his extensive discography with Wings and The Beatles. The two iconic musicians recently reunited for a special performance at Paul's concert at the O2 Arena in London. Furthermore, they are involved in consulting for a four-movie Beatles cinematic project directed by Sam Mendes, set for release in 2028. Actors Barry Keoghan and Paul Mescal will portray Ringo and Paul, while Joseph Quinn and Harris Dickinson will play George Harrison and John Lennon, respectively.

The Beatles' influence and music continue to resonate through the generations, with Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney actively contributing to the music industry and preserving their iconic legacy.
