Ed Sheeran recently shared an update on his wife Cherry's health after she was diagnosed with cancer while six months pregnant with their second child. The singer described the day he received the news as one of the worst days of his life. Cherry had to delay treatment until after giving birth, which coincided with Ed losing close friends Jamal Edwards and Shane Warne, as well as facing a court case over plagiarism allegations related to his song "Shape of You."
Despite the challenges, Cherry underwent successful surgery to remove the tumor after giving birth to their second child, Jupiter, in May 2022. Ed expressed relief that Cherry is doing well and emphasized the difficulty of the situation due to her pregnancy at the time of diagnosis. He also addressed the court case, where he was accused of plagiarizing material from another song, stating that such claims are damaging to the songwriting industry.

Cherry shared that Ed wrote seven songs in four hours after learning about her diagnosis, highlighting his creative process as a way to express intense emotions.
