New York Giants Reportedly Reach Agreement with Wide Receiver Darnell Mooney
The New York Giants have reportedly reached an agreement with wide receiver Darnell Mooney, pending a physical examination. Mooney has a solid NFL career, having played in 91 games with 80 starts for the Chicago Bears and Atlanta Falcons. Throughout his career, he has accumulated 309 receptions for 4,028 yards and 17 touchdowns, along with 13 rush attempts for 59 yards and an additional touchdown. Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 180 pounds, Mooney had a standout season in 2021, recording 81 catches for 1,055 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games, including his first career rushing touchdown. Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy previously coached Mooney during his time with the Bears.
In his first season with the Falcons in 2024, Mooney had an impressive performance, amassing 992 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 64 receptions. He was originally selected as a fifth-round pick (No. 173 overall) after a successful collegiate career at Tulane, where he totaled 154 receptions for 2,572 yards and 19 touchdowns in 50 games.
