Syracuse Orange Women's Basketball Team Secures NCAA Tournament Spot and Faces Iowa State in 2026

The Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team has secured a spot in the 2026 NCAA Tournament as a nine-seed and will be facing off against the Iowa State Cyclones in Storrs, CT. This marks the second time under coach Felisha Legette-Jack that the Orange have made it to the Big Dance, and it is their 14th appearance in program history. They will be in Region 1 and share the bracket with the top overall seed, the UConn Huskies. Syracuse holds a 2-0 record against Iowa State, with their last meeting resulting in a 12-point victory for the Orange in 2023-24.
Unfortunately, the Orange will be without starting guard Dominique Darius for the entirety of March Madness due to an injury sustained during the ACC Tournament. Darius' future with the team is uncertain as she explores the possibility of obtaining a fifth year of eligibility. On a brighter note, associate head coach Natasha Adair has been recognized on the national stage by being named to the Advancing Beyond In Sports Women’s Basketball Assistant Coaches watch list, which highlights top coaches and assistants in college and professional sports. Adair joined Legette-Jack’s staff before the current season.
