2026 Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Celebration Weekend: Honoring Don Williams and Allen Frizzell

The annual Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Celebration Weekend will be held from August 7-9, 2026, in Carthage, Texas, featuring a variety of performances, competitions, and special events.
Don Williams, known as the "Gentle Giant," had a distinguished career characterized by his smooth baritone voice and subtle style. His timeless hits like "Tulsa Time," "I Believe in You," and "Good Ole Boys Like Me" have garnered a loyal global following. Allen Frizzell, a talented singer-songwriter and brother of country legends David and Lefty Frizzell, has also made a significant impact on the industry with his rich vocals and authentic storytelling.
The celebration weekend will kick off on Friday, August 7, at the Carthage Civic Center with the John Ritter Tribute Showcase, featuring 30 finalists competing for the title of Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Ambassador for 2027. The highlight of the weekend will be the Induction Show on Saturday, August 8, at the Carthage Civic Center, featuring special guests like Clay Cooper, David Frizzell, and John Schneider.
The KGAS Country Music Showdown will also take place on Saturday at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, showcasing emerging talent from the region. The weekend will conclude on Sunday, August 9, with the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Gospel Show, celebrating the roots of country music through inspiring gospel performances.
