Arrest Made in Hit-and-Run Death of Texas Sheriff's Deputy: Illegal Immigrant Apprehended by DHS

An illegal immigrant has been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run death of a Texas sheriff's deputy. Dennis Arguello-Acosta was apprehended by the Department of Homeland Security for allegedly driving a vehicle that struck and killed Fort Bend County Sheriff's Deputy Kenneth Lewis before fleeing the scene. Acting DHS Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis emphasized the need to prevent criminal illegal aliens like Arguello-Acosta from posing a threat to public safety. The arrest was made following a tip provided to the FBI and other law enforcement agencies. Lewis, who tragically lost his life in the incident, had a history of selfless service as a law enforcement officer, having previously survived a near-fatal accident during his tenure with the Missouri City Police Department. The community mourns the loss of Deputy Lewis and stands in solidarity with his family and colleagues during this difficult time.
