Placebo Announces 'RE:CREATED' Album and European Tour Celebrating 30th Anniversary

Placebo has announced the release of 'RE:CREATED', a reworking of their 1996 debut album, along with a UK and European tour where they will perform tracks from their first two albums. The reimagined version of their self-titled debut album is scheduled for release on June 19 and will feature reworked versions of all 10 original tracks, including iconic singles like 'Nancy Boy' and '36 Degrees'. The band aimed to bring the record into the 21st century while preserving its original spirit and integrity.
The album was recreated by Brian Molko and Rob Kirwan from the original master tapes and mixed by Adam Noble. Placebo described the project as a celebration of their beginnings and a bridge between their past and present selves. The upcoming tour will kick off in Portugal in September and continue throughout Europe in October and November, with UK and Ireland dates in late November and early December. The band will perform material from their first two albums, some of which have not been played live for over 20 years.
Placebo's 30th-anniversary tour follows their one-off show at London's Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust and an upcoming performance in Switzerland. The tour will include stops in various European cities before concluding with UK and Ireland gigs. The band's debut album received critical acclaim upon its release, and they previously embarked on a 20th-anniversary tour in 2016. Their latest album, 'Never Let Me Go', was released in 2022 and was praised for its experimental rock sound.
