T.Y. Hilton, a former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver, recently announced his retirement from the NFL. With 9,691 receiving yards, Hilton is ranked third in Colts history behind Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. After his NFL career, Hilton transitioned to coaching and is now the head football coach at Miami Springs High School, his alma mater. He briefly played for the Dallas Cowboys in 2022, marking the only time he played for a team other than the Colts.
During his time with the Colts from 2012 to 2021, Hilton, known as "The Ghost," was a formidable force on the field. He surpassed 1,000 receiving yards five times, including four consecutive seasons from 2013 to 2016. In 2016, Hilton led the NFL with 1,448 receiving yards and received Pro Bowl honors from 2014 to 2017. His standout performance came in the 2013 playoffs when he helped the Colts secure a thrilling comeback victory over the Kansas City Chiefs with 224 receiving yards, including a crucial 64-yard touchdown catch.
The Colts drafted Hilton in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, recognizing his playmaking skills from his college days at Florida International University (FIU). At FIU, Hilton showcased his talent by amassing 3,531 receiving yards and scoring 37 total touchdowns over four seasons. In 2025, he was inducted into the FIU Athletics Hall of Fame, becoming the first football player to receive this honor.
