Border Patrol Apprehends Mexican Fugitives with Active Warrants in California: DHS Criticizes Biden Administration's Handling of Criminal Illegal Aliens

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently announced that U.S. Border Patrol agents in the San Diego Sector apprehended two Mexican fugitives with active warrants for serious crimes. The first arrest targeted Silvia Del Rosario Torres-Castro, a Mexican national wanted in Mexico for homicide. Torres-Castro was taken into custody in Anaheim, California, and handed over to Mexican authorities. She had entered the U.S. illegally in December 2023 under the Biden administration's watch.
In a separate operation, agents arrested Salvador Suazo-Garcia, another Mexican national wanted in Mexico for lewd acts upon a child. Suazo-Garcia was apprehended in Lemon Grove, California, and processed administratively before being turned over to Mexican authorities. Despite entering the U.S. legally in May 2021, his visa was revoked due to his alleged crimes in Mexico.
DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis criticized the Biden administration for allowing these dangerous criminal illegal aliens to be on American streets, making communities less safe. Bis highlighted that nearly 70% of illegal immigrants arrested by ICE have criminal convictions or pending charges in the U.S. This percentage does not include individuals wanted for violent crimes in their home country, human rights violators, gang members, or terrorists.
Both suspects were arrested in California and extradited to Mexico to face justice for their crimes. The DHS emphasized the importance of law enforcement efforts in ensuring that criminal illegal aliens are held accountable for their actions and brought to justice.
