Ella Langley Makes History with No. 1 and No. 2 Hits on Billboard's Hot Country Songs Chart
Ella Langley has made history on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart by claiming the No. 1 and No. 2 spots with her songs "Choosin' Texas" and "Be Her." Langley's track "Choosin' Texas" has maintained its No. 1 position for 15 weeks, while "Be Her" has climbed to No. 2, showcasing her remarkable achievement in country music.
Langley's success is further evidenced by the impressive streaming and airplay numbers for the tracking week of February 27 to March 5. "Choosin' Texas" garnered 21.9 million official U.S. streams, 44.1 million in radio airplay audience, and 6,000 copies sold. On the other hand, "Be Her" accumulated 11.8 million streams, a radio reach of 29.2 million, and 2,000 copies sold, marking Langley's seventh top 10 hit on Hot Country Songs. Both songs are featured on her upcoming second LP, Dandelion, scheduled for release on April 10.
The success of "Choosin' Texas" has already broken records, becoming the first song to simultaneously top Country Airplay, Hot Country Songs, and the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 charts. The song also reclaimed the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 when Megan Moroney debuted at No. 1 on Top Country Albums with Cloud 9, marking a significant milestone for two women primarily recording country music leading the charts in the same week.
By holding both the No. 1 and No. 2 positions on Hot Country Songs, Ella Langley joins the ranks of Beyoncé and Taylor Swift as the only women to achieve this feat. Langley's accomplishment solidifies her influence in the country music scene and sets the stage for the highly anticipated release of her album Dandelion, featuring her chart-topping singles.
