Important Safety Recall: Honda CMX300, CMX500, and CL500 Motorcycles - Handlebar Lock Screw Issue

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) has issued a recall for certain 2023-2025 CMX300, CMX500, and CL500 motorcycles due to a potential safety issue with the handlebar lock screw. The detached screw could become lodged between the frame and stem, leading to steering interference and an increased risk of a crash or injury. Approximately 19,406 units are affected by this recall.
To address the issue, Honda dealers will replace the lock screw and apply thread lock at no cost to the owners. Notification letters will be sent out to affected owners starting on May 8, 2026.
