E.W. Scripps Co. is set to launch a new ad-supported streaming channel called Scripps Sports Network, featuring live games, original series, and specials. The channel will be available on various platforms such as The Roku Channel, LG Channels, Amazon Prime Video, and more. State Farm has already signed on as a foundational advertising partner, supporting the channel's focus on women's sports like WNBA and NWSL games.
The new platform aims to provide consumers with free access to live sports, trusted news, and original entertainment, recognizing the value of content that can be accessed without subscription barriers. Scripps Sports Network will offer over 100 hours of live programming, including women's professional volleyball and ice hockey. Additionally, the channel will feature original programs hosted by personalities like Suzy Kolber and Sanya Richards-Ross.
In addition to the sports content, other Scripps properties like Bounce and Grit will introduce new programming. Bounce will debut "The Silver Fox Squad," an unscripted series following stylish men over 50 offering advice on various aspects of life. Grit, known for its action heroes, will also introduce original programming for the first time in its history, with more details to be revealed soon.
