Democracy Now! 30th Anniversary Celebration at Riverside Church: A Night of Music, Activism, and Inspiration

Democracy Now! marked its 30th anniversary with a special event at Riverside Church in New York City. The event featured musical performances by Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Stipe, and others, along with appearances by Democracy Now! contributors and activist Angela Davis. Hurray For The Riff Raff kicked off the performances with their song "Pa'lante." Michael Stipe and Aaron Dessner of The National collaborated on "No Time for Love Like Now," followed by Patti Smith reading from her memoir and performing "Peaceable Kingdom" with her daughter and guitarist. Bruce Springsteen performed "Streets Of Minneapolis" and was joined by the other musicians for a rendition of "People Have The Power," concluding the event.
