Lucas Leon recently had the opportunity to fulfill some of his biggest dreams on American Idol. Before his second performance in Hawaii, the teenager received guidance from advisors Brad Paisley and Keke Palmer to help him prepare. Leon was thrilled to meet Paisley, as he often performs Paisley's song, "I'm Gonna Miss Her," at his gigs in Nashville. The two musicians even played the track together during their meeting.
Leon expressed his admiration for Paisley's talent and was touched when Paisley offered to have him backstage at the Opry in the future. For his next performance on Idol, Leon chose to sing Tim McGraw's "Just to See You Smile," a song that Paisley praised as one of his favorites. After Leon's heartfelt rendition of the song, Paisley commended him for his authentic interpretation that didn't mimic McGraw.
During his performance, Leon impressed all the judges with his comfortable and natural stage presence. Lionel Richie praised him for making the performance feel effortless, while Keke Palmer noted that he transported the audience into his world. Carrie Underwood complimented his powerful and beautiful voice, appreciating the simplicity and ease with which he performed. Luke Bryan commended Leon for consistently delivering outstanding performances.
