Michigan Wolverines Secure Commitments from Top Recruits in 2027 Class

The Michigan Wolverines are making moves in the 2027 recruiting class with two recent predictions in their favor. Four-star defensive back Darrell Mattison and three-star athlete Maxwell Miles are both trending towards Michigan. Miles, from Las Vegas (NV) Centennial, received an offer from Michigan after a visit to Ann Arbor. With safeties coach Tyler Stockton now at Michigan, the Wolverines are in a good position to land Miles.

Maxwell Miles, a 6'2\", 190-pound prospect, is ranked as a three-star athlete and is considered the No. 735 player in the country. He is also the No. 5 player out of Nevada. While Minnesota and UNLV were previously in the mix for Miles, Michigan's offer has put them ahead in his recruitment. Miles also holds offers from programs like Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, and Oregon State.

In his junior season, Miles showcased his skills with 77 tackles, eight interceptions, and six tackles for loss. Known for his speed, Miles reportedly runs a 4.4 40-yard dash. With the Wolverines needing to bolster their defensive backfield, adding players like Miles and Mattison will be crucial for the team's future success.

Michigan has seen changes in their defensive back roster due to coaching changes and transfers, making the recruitment of players like Miles and Mattison even more important. As the Wolverines prepare for the 2027 season, securing talented prospects like Miles will be essential for maintaining a strong secondary.
