Meet the Newest Addition to the Los Angeles Chargers: Guard Kayode Awosika

The Los Angeles Chargers have added guard Kayode Awosika to their roster. Awosika joins the team after playing for the Detroit Lions for the past four seasons. He initially signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2021 before moving to Detroit. Awosika has played in 50 regular-season games, with 11 starts, and has also appeared in four postseason games. During his time in Detroit, he was part of an offensive line that supported multiple 1,000-yard rushers and helped quarterback Jared Goff achieve 4,000 passing yards each season.

Awosika began his college career at the University at Buffalo in 2017, where he redshirted before becoming a key player on the offensive line. He received first-team All-Mid-American Conference honors in 2020 for his role in the team's highly ranked rushing offense. In 2019, he was named a second-team All-MAC selection as Buffalo set a rushing yards record. In 2018, Awosika started 14 games at right tackle, contributing to the team's record-breaking 36 touchdown runs.

The addition of Kayode Awosika brings experience and talent to the Los Angeles Chargers' offensive line. His versatility and proven track record in both the running and passing game make him a valuable asset to the team. The Chargers look forward to seeing Awosika's impact on the field in the upcoming season.
