Apple Greenlights Sci-Fi Action-Thriller 'Liminal' Directed by Louis Leterrier, Starring Vanessa Kirby and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
Apple has given the green light to Liminal, a sci-fi action-thriller directed by Louis Leterrier, starring Vanessa Kirby and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The film is based on the AWA graphic novel Telepaths by J. Michael Straczynski, Steve Epting, and Brian Reber. Set in a world where a tenth of the population gains telepathic powers due to an electromagnetic disturbance, the story follows Boston police dealing with a group led by a wrongly convicted prisoner trying to navigate a world where their powers make them targets.
Liminal, produced by Zach Studin for AWA Studios and Kevin Walsh for The Walsh Company, is written by Justin Rhodes. The film also features executive producers Ray Angelic, Straczynski, Epting, and Reber, with Patrick McNamara and Juliet Kirby as co-producers. Kirby, known for her roles in various films and series, is set to star in upcoming projects like Ruins opposite Sebastian Stan. Abdul-Mateen II, who recently received acclaim for his role in Marvel's Wonder Man, will also star in the upcoming series Man on Fire and the crime thriller By Any Means.
Louis Leterrier, the Emmy-winning director behind projects like Fast X and Lupin, will helm Liminal. Justin Rhodes, the writer of the film, is represented by Lit Entertainment Group, CAA, and Felker Toczek Suddleson.
