U2's EP 'Days of Ash' and the Rise of 'Song of the Future' on Radio Charts

U2 surprised fans with the release of their EP "Days of Ash" in February, hinting at a full-length album later in 2026. The EP's lead single, "Song of the Future," has now made its debut on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart at No. 50, marking U2's milestone tenth appearance on the chart. Despite their global success, U2 didn't enter the chart until nearly two decades ago, with hits like "Magnificent" and "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight."

Their highest-charting hit, "Atomic City," opened at No. 5 and remains their only top 10 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart. "Song of the Future" is currently climbing the Adult Alternative Airplay chart, moving from No. 13 to No. 11 this week. U2 has found more success on this chart, with 28 top 10 hits and half of them reaching No. 1.

While "Song of the Future" gains traction on the radio, the EP "Days of Ash" did not make it to the Billboard 200 but peaked at No. 18 on the Top Album Sales chart. Despite not charting on the Billboard 200, the EP has been a bestseller. U2's latest single is on an upward trajectory, and its success on the radio charts continues to grow.
