Jewish Organizations Applaud Sentencing of Neo-Nazi Terrorist Matthew Althorpe to 20 Years in Prison

Five Jewish organizations have issued a statement applauding the sentencing of Matthew Althorpe, a neo-Nazi terrorist, to 20 years in prison by a Toronto judge. The organizations emphasized that the sentence sends a strong message that those who promote hate, commit violence, and terrorize communities will face legal consequences. Althorpe, 30, pleaded guilty to charges related to facilitating terrorist activities, promoting hatred against identifiable groups, and creating recruitment videos for the now-defunct Atomwaffen Division, a neo-Nazi group designated as a terrorist entity in several countries, including Canada. The judge expressed concerns about Althorpe's continued adherence to white supremacist ideology.
