Man Accused of Attempted Murder of Children in Dublin Deemed Fit for Trial
A man accused of attempting to murder three children in Dublin's Parnell Square in November 2023 has been deemed fit to face trial. Riad Bouchaker, aged 51 and with no fixed address, faces charges related to the attempted murder of two girls and a boy, as well as assault causing serious harm to a care worker. Following a review of medical and psychiatric assessments, Judge Tony Hunt at the Central Criminal Court concluded that Bouchaker is mentally capable of standing trial. The court proceedings were conducted with the assistance of an Arabic interpreter for Bouchaker.
