Rock for Jennifer: A Tribute to a Music Industry Trailblazer

Legendary rock musicians Slash, Duff McKagan, Steven Adler, and Gilby Clarke recently performed at the Troubadour in West Hollywood to honor the late Jennifer Perry, a prominent rock agent and promoter in Los Angeles. The sold-out Rock for Jennifer event saw the band members reunite at a venue where Perry had worked in the 1980s. The night featured a powerful rendition of "It's So Easy" with Faster Pussycat singer Taime Downe, organized by Vicky Hamilton, who managed the group in its early days. All proceeds from the event were directed to MusiCares, a music charity.
Jennifer Perry, who passed away at 67 after battling cancer, had a significant impact on the music industry. She worked at Tapestry Artists and Avalon Attractions, co-created OzzFest with Sharon Osbourne, and supported numerous emerging acts. The tribute event featured performances by Fred Coury from Cinderella and other artists, with Hamilton ensuring that every dollar raised went to the music charity.
Slash and McKagan, who first joined Guns N' Roses in 1985, continue to tour with Axl Rose after reuniting with the band in 2016. Adler, the former drummer of Guns N' Roses, made surprise appearances during the Not In This Lifetime tour, showcasing his talent on iconic tracks. Clarke, who was on rhythm guitar duties in the 1990s, joined forces with the band members at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2012, delivering memorable performances with Myles Kennedy on vocals.
The current Guns N' Roses lineup is gearing up for a 2026 world tour, including a summer North American leg. Isaac Carpenter has taken over drumming duties from Frank Ferrer, ensuring that the band continues to captivate audiences with their timeless music. The Rock for Jennifer event was a heartfelt tribute to a music industry trailblazer, showcasing the enduring legacy of Jennifer Perry and the camaraderie of rock legends.
