Behind the Scenes with Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond on The Great British Bake Off

Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond are co-stars on The Great British Bake Off, where they have been presenting together since Alison took over from Matt Lucas in 2023. The show, known for its colorful displays and delicious treats, has a strict rule that no one is allowed to eat the displays, even though they look tempting. Noel emphasized this rule to journalist Boudicca Fox Leonard during a visit to the iconic tent in Welford Park, Berkshire.
The cast and crew of Bake Off are warned not to touch or eat any of the props, as many of them are not edible and are solely for decorative purposes. Some items are made from polystyrene, while others have been left out for extended periods and are not meant to be consumed. Even the edible props are not safe after filming ends, as they need to be put away to prevent squirrels from eating them.
Noel and Alison are currently hosting The Great Celebrity Bake Off to raise money for Stand Up to Cancer, with celebrities like Molly-Mae Hague and JoJo Siwa participating. Alison, who has charmed judges and viewers with her infectious personality, was initially nervous about joining the beloved show but has brought a fresh energy to the Bake Off tent. She has previous experience in cooking shows, having appeared on Celebrity MasterChef and hosted cooking segments on daytime programs.
Alison's enthusiasm for being part of such an iconic show is evident, as she considers it a privilege to be involved. In addition to her roles on Bake Off and This Morning, she has also been a contestant on reality shows like I'm A Celeb and Strictly Come Dancing. The Great Celebrity Bake Off features a lineup of famous faces, including former I'm A Celeb winner Vicky Pattison, radio presenter Scott Mills, and actor Ralf Little.
