The Mummy 4: Original Cast Reunites with John Hannah as Jonathan Carnahan

Universal Pictures is bringing back the original cast for The Mummy 4, with John Hannah joining Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in the upcoming film. Hannah will reprise his role as Jonathan Carnahan, the charmingly unscrupulous brother of Weisz's character, Evelyn Carnahan. The new movie will serve as a direct sequel to the first two films in the franchise, skipping the third installment. Radio Silence's Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct the movie, with David Coggeshall penning the script. Production is set to begin this fall in London and Morocco, with a release date scheduled for May 19, 2028. The plot details are being kept secret, but fans can enjoy a re-release of The Mummy Returns in theaters to celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary. Sean Daniel, the original producer, is returning to produce the film, along with collaborators from Radio Silence.
