Shedeur Sanders Returns to No. 2 Jersey for 2026 Season with the Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders had to wear No. 12 last season due to his college number being taken. However, for the upcoming 2026 season, Sanders is switching back to his Colorado No. 2 jersey. Last year, he couldn't choose No. 2 as it was already claimed by wide receiver DeAndre Carter. Sanders mentioned that 12 was his next best option and joked about not having a high enough signing bonus to buy No. 2 from Carter. Despite this, his No. 12 jersey became a top seller, leading all NFL rookies in sales and ranking fifth overall during the 2025 offseason.
Sanders recently announced his jersey number change on Instagram, expressing gratitude. He will now wear the number 2, which he previously wore at Jackson State and in Colorado. This number is significant to him and is part of his personal brand, SS2Legendary.
