Rick Springfield Set to Receive Payment for Mid-Michigan Show: The End of a Concert Saga

Rick Springfield, the 80s rock star, is set to receive payment for a show he performed in Mid-Michigan in 2023. The former Bay City State Theatre Executive Director, Mike Bacigalupo, has agreed to pay Springfield $68,750 after a check issued to him bounced. Springfield had already received a deposit of $48,750 before the show took place. The payment issue arose when Bacigalupo's check bounced just five days after the performance at Bay City's Wenonah Park. Springfield, under the name "Springthorpe Brothers Corp.," filed a lawsuit against Bacigalupo and the State Theatre in January 2024, claiming that despite assurances, the payment was never made to rectify the outstanding balance owed.

The lawsuit resulted in a judgment in Springfield's favor for $68,750, plus interest as allowed by law, signed by Circuit Judge Joseph Sheeran on March 10. This marks the end of a long wait for Rick Springfield, bringing the Mid-Michigan concert saga to a close.
