Call for Applications: Screen International's UK & Ireland Stars of Tomorrow 2026
The 23rd edition of Screen International’s Screen Stars of Tomorrow is now accepting applications for new talent from the UK and Ireland. The submissions window is open from April 1 to April 30, 2026. Applicants must be UK or Irish citizens or long-term residents, at an early stage in their film career, and show exceptional promise. They need to fill out a Google Form, provide a short biography, headshot, contact details, and a statement about why they are applying. Producers, directors, writers, and actors are welcome to apply, with specific criteria for each category.
Producers should have one feature film to their credit, directors should be close to making their first feature, and actors must work in cinema and TV. Applicants can include an IMDB link and an industry reference to support their application. Charles Gant, Screen International’s awards and box office editor, will oversee the selection process this year. The UK & Ireland Stars of Tomorrow initiative has a strong track record of discovering talent who have gone on to win prestigious awards and gain recognition in the industry.
Screen’s talent programme also includes initiatives in the Middle East, with 'Rising Star' offshoots in Ireland and Scotland. Irish and Scottish candidates can apply for either or both showcases but will only be selected for one. The 2026 UK & Ireland Stars of Tomorrow will be announced and celebrated at a networking reception in central London later this year. The previous Stars of Tomorrow have achieved significant success in the industry, with many going on to win Academy Awards and Baftas.
