Drug Bust on the Oregon Coast: SCINT Team Apprehends Suspect with Controlled Substances and Weapons

A man was apprehended on the Oregon coast following a drug investigation conducted by the South Coast interagency Narcotics Team (SCINT) with the assistance of the Oregon State Police and Coos Bay Police Department. The investigation was prompted by community complaints and reports of drug activity in the area. During the operation, a vehicle was stopped by the Oregon State Police on behalf of SCINT, and the driver, identified as Shane Todd, was found to be in possession of controlled substances. Despite attempting to hide the drugs under a patrol vehicle, a police K9 named Katie successfully located them. Todd was also discovered to have multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest from various sheriff's offices and was wanted for questioning in connection with a robbery and assault case.
Upon further search, law enforcement officers discovered three restricted weapons, methamphetamine, DMT, and approximately nine grams of fentanyl packaged for distribution. Following the incident, the SCINT team mentioned that K9 Katie received plenty of pets and playtime with her ball as a reward for her successful detection efforts.
