Jethro Tull Unveils Under Wraps: The Unwrapped Edition - A Comprehensive Six-Disc Set

Jethro Tull is set to release Under Wraps: The Unwrapped Edition, a comprehensive six-disc set that combines the band's 1984 album, Under Wraps, and Ian Anderson's 1983 solo debut, Walk Into Light. The collection, overseen by Ian Anderson, features both original albums remixed twice by Bruce Soord of The Pineapple Thief. The set includes associated recordings from the period, a live recording from a 1984 BBC Radio 1 concert, and stereo and DOLBY ATMOS mixes on Blu-Ray. The package also includes promo videos and a 100-page book detailing the making of the records.
Both Under Wraps and Walk Into Light showcased Jethro Tull's exploration of new technology, incorporating synthesizers and drum machines. The albums marked a departure from the band's traditional sound, which was met with mixed reactions from fans. The upcoming UK tour will feature tracks from these albums, starting in Perth and running through April and May.
The tracklisting for Under Wraps: The Unwrapped Edition includes remixed versions of both albums, along with associated recordings and previously unreleased material. The collection offers a deep dive into Jethro Tull's experimental phase in the early '80s, showcasing their innovative approach to music production and sound exploration. Fans can pre-order the set to experience these iconic albums in a new light.
