Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner's Attempt to Keep Settlement Agreement with Ray J Private Denied by Court Ruling

Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner's attempt to keep parts of a 2023 settlement agreement with Ray J private has been denied by a court ruling. The reality TV stars argued that disclosing the deal would harm their privacy interests, but the judge found their claims to be unsupported and vague. The court ruled that only a bank account number would be partially redacted in the agreement.
Ray J, also known as William Ray Norwood Jr., and Kardashian were involved in a relationship in the early 2000s and famously appeared in a sex tape together. The tape was released in 2007, just before the premiere of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." Kardashian and Jenner later sued Norwood for defamation, while he countersued them for breaching a settlement agreement by discussing the tape on their Hulu series.
In response to Norwood's claims, Kardashian denied any involvement in a plan to release the sex tape or defraud the public. She stated that her family has not engaged in criminal activities or profited from such activities as alleged by Norwood.
The court's decision to deny the sealing of the settlement agreement marks a continuation of the legal disputes between the parties involved. Kardashian and Jenner's privacy concerns were not deemed sufficient to warrant keeping the agreement confidential, as ruled by the Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Steven A. Ellis. The public disclosure of the terms of the settlement agreement will shed light on the ongoing legal battles between the parties.
