2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala: Honoring Music Legends and Iconic Recordings

The 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala has announced new performers for the event, including George Clinton, Heart, Lucinda Williams, and Take 6. These artists have recorded titles that will be honored at the gala, joining Norah Jones, who will also receive the Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award. The event, hosted by Anthony Mason, will take place at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on May 8.

The gala will honor 14 titles from a wide range of music genres, spanning nearly a century of recorded music. The recordings being inducted include classics like "Trouble in Mind" by Bertha “Chippie” Hill from 1926 and Car Wheels on A Gravel Road by Lucinda Williams from 1998. Other notable inductees include Pink Moon by Nick Drake, Maggot Brain by Funkadelic, Dreamboat Annie by Heart, and All Eyez on Me by 2Pac.

The Grammy Hall of Fame was established by the Recording Academy's national trustees to recognize recordings released before the Grammy Awards began in 1959. The selection process involves a special member committee choosing recordings based on their historical or qualitative significance, with final approval from the Recording Academy's national board of trustees. CEO Harvey Mason Jr. expressed pride in honoring these influential recordings and their lasting impact on music culture.

The gala will be produced by industry veterans Ken Ehrlich, Ron Basile, Chantel Sausedo, Lindsay Saunders Carl, and Lynne Sheridan. The event promises to celebrate the creativity, craft, and cultural impact of these iconic recordings, preserving their legacies for future generations to appreciate. Don't miss this star-studded event honoring the timeless music that continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
