Pooh Shiesty and BIG30 Charged in Violent Armed Robbery and Kidnapping Incident at Dallas Music Studio

Pooh Shiesty, a well-known Memphis rapper, along with other individuals, including BIG30, have been charged by federal authorities in connection with a violent armed robbery and kidnapping incident at a Dallas music studio. The motive behind the kidnapping was believed to be related to Pooh Shiesty's contract with New 1017 Records, owned by Gucci Mane. The victims, identified as R.D., M.M., and B.P., were reportedly kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint during a meeting at the studio. The incident involved a coordinated armed takeover by Pooh Shiesty and eight others, resulting in the victims being forced to sign a release from the recording contract and robbed of valuable items.
The investigation revealed that Pooh Shiesty, who was on federal home confinement at the time for a prior firearms conspiracy conviction, orchestrated the armed robbery with the help of his co-conspirators, including BIG30. The group used electronic monitoring data, license plate readers, and social media posts to link them to the crime. Following the robbery, several defendants posted photos and videos on social media displaying the stolen jewelry. The U.S. Attorney emphasized that using violence and intimidation as a business practice will be vigorously investigated and prosecuted.
The defendants, including Pooh Shiesty and BIG30, are facing federal charges of kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping. If convicted, each defendant could potentially face a maximum sentence of life in federal prison. The incident serves as a reminder that criminal activities will not be tolerated, especially when they involve violence and intimidation in a business context.
