Carmine Appice and Cactus have just released their latest album, Temple Of Blues II, through Cleopatra Records. The album features a star-studded lineup including Dee Snider, Ted Nugent, Joe Lynn Turner, Steve Morse, and Billy Sheehan. The band dropped their newest single, "Bad Stuff," which originally appeared on their 1972 album Ot and Sweaty but has been reimagined with Turner on vocals and Morse on guitar.
Turner expressed his excitement about being part of the project, highlighting the talented musicians involved in the album. The lineup includes Tony Franklin on bass, Derek Sherinian on keyboards, Artie Dillon on guitar, and Carmine Appice on drums. Appice shared his love for "Bad Stuff" and the new version featuring the all-star lineup.
Temple Of Blues II is a follow-up to the previous album, Temple of the Blues, with returning artists like Snider, Nugent, Sheehan, Bumblefoot, and Pat Travers. New additions to the mix include Turner, Morse, Melanie, Tracii Guns, Rudy Sarzo, and Alex Skolnick. The album features seven Dixon/Wolf classics, collaborations like Nugent and Bob Daisley on "Spoonful," Snider and Guns on "The Little Red Rooster," and Gales and Sheehan on "Back Door Man."
Melanie's vocals on "Purple Haze" are a tribute to her performance at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival. The standard release of the album consists of ten tracks, with a CD-only bonus track titled "Feel So Good" featuring Sheehan, Britt Lightning, and Tommy Thayer. The album showcases a blend of classic blues rock with a modern twist, bringing together legendary musicians for a unique musical experience.
